COONI is a parent-controlled video app for kids. Videos come from YouTube and play in the official YouTube player, but a
child only sees what fits the parent's rules: the channels the parent allows, the topics and words they block, the
categories they keep on, and the daily time limit and hours they choose. Shorts stay apart and never play automatically.
Why COONI was made
Kids' video apps are run by recommendation algorithms that decide what plays next. Some of it is wonderful: songs, stories
and science. Some of it is loud, fast "brainrot", look-alike cartoons and endless Shorts. COONI puts the parent in charge.
